Who am I?

Nathan Robinson is a seasoned researcher whose life’s work reflects a deep and enduring commitment to uncovering the stories that bind families across generations. Since 2018, he has been immersed in the world of genealogy, developing a reputation for meticulous research and thoughtful interpretation. Specialising in English, Welsh, Irish, Australian, Scottish, and New Zealand heritage, Nathan draws on a wide range of resources, including Ancestry databases, civil registration platforms, and historical texts, to reveal the intricate tapestry of familial history.

Before dedicating himself fully to genealogy, Nathan forged a distinguished career in the Australian Army. He enlisted in October 2000 with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, where his technical expertise, discipline, and leadership quickly became evident. Through demanding promotional courses and consistent professional excellence, he rose to the rank of Sergeant during a 13-year military career. In 2010, Nathan deployed to Afghanistan, an experience that proved both deeply rewarding and profoundly challenging. The long-term impact of this service included the development of PTSD, and in 2015 he retired honourably from the Army.

Following his military service, Nathan turned inward, seeking understanding and healing through the exploration of his own family history. What began as a personal quest soon evolved into a transformative academic and professional journey. He has since built an extensive family tree encompassing more than 30,000 individuals, tracing lineages back as far as 800 AD. To further refine his expertise, Nathan completed a Diploma of Family History, reinforcing his commitment to genealogy not merely as a vocation, but as a deeply personal calling rooted in identity, memory, and connection.

Today, Nathan Robinson brings together military discipline, academic rigour, and genuine empathy in his work with clients. He understands that every family history carries stories of resilience, loss, triumph, and belonging. With care and precision, he guides individuals through the process of uncovering their past, helping them connect fragmented records into a coherent and meaningful narrative. In Nathan’s capable hands, genealogy becomes more than research, it becomes a journey through time, illuminating the lives and legacies that shape who we are today.
