Basic (25 hour project - $150/h)
AU$3,750.00
This project marks the beginning of your genealogical adventure: a careful, determined search for the people and places that shaped your family story. With every document we uncover, we step a little closer to the truth of where your ancestors lived, how they moved through the world, and the lives they left behind. Genealogy is rarely a straight path. It is a trail of names, dates, and fragments, gathered piece by piece, until a clearer picture starts to form.
To do this well, we will cast the net wide and work methodically.
We will use genealogy computer software to organise the evidence and build accurate family connections.
We will search church records, parish registers, and civil documentation, including birth, death, and marriage records, to anchor each individual in time and place. From there, we will expand outward into whatever sources help the story take shape.
At the end of the project, you will receive a polished electronic report that brings everything together. It will highlight what we have found, explain the evidence behind key connections, and clearly outline where the research is strong and where it remains uncertain. Just as importantly, it will identify promising next steps and lines of inquiry you may wish to pursue, so your family history can continue to grow beyond this first stage.
Alongside the report, I will provide a GED file, allowing you to import the family tree data into genealogy programs and major research platforms. This will help you continue your searches more easily, build on the work we have completed, and keep your family history organised as you move forward. In other words, you will not only receive the story we have uncovered so far, but also the tools to carry the adventure onward, confidently, clearly, and with the records leading the way.
Standard (50 hour project $125/h)
AU$6,250.00
The Standard Project is where your family history begins to deepen and breathe. Building on the foundations of genealogical research, this stage moves beyond simple names and dates and starts to reveal the people themselves: the choices they made, the places they called home, and the lives they built in circumstances that were not always kind or predictable. It is the next step in turning a family tree into a true family story.
As we progress, we will expand the research to provide richer background detail for each ancestral line. We will look not only at who your ancestors were, but how they lived. We will trace their migration patterns and ask why they moved, what drew them to new districts, towns, or countries, and what those journeys may have cost them. We will explore the occupations they held, the skills they relied upon, and the work that fed their households. In many cases, these details become the strongest clues to understanding the character of a family: the trades passed from parent to child, the farms held for generations, or the sudden shift in work that signals hardship, opportunity, or change.
Just as importantly, the Standard Project reflects on the world your ancestors lived through. Their lives were shaped by the rhythm of ordinary seasons, but also by extraordinary events: economic downturns, disease, war, changing laws, shifting borders, or the pressures of poverty and inheritance. Some endured turmoil others found better times through perseverance, luck, and the support of family and community. By placing them within their historical setting, we can better understand what survival looked like for them, and how their decisions echoed through the generations that followed.
Each person we document will be given an individual biography, written as a clear narrative of their life from birth to their eventual death. These biographies will draw together the evidence we uncover and present it in a way that is both readable and meaningful, so that each ancestor is remembered as more than a record entry. Where records allow, we will include marriage, children, residence, occupation, and notable events, ensuring each story feels complete, grounded, and connected to the wider family line.
When the work is finished, you will receive the results in an electronic format designed for easy reading and long-term keeping. Alongside the written material, you will also receive a GED file, so your research can be imported into genealogy software and used as a platform for continued discovery. In this way, the Standard Project does more than extend the research — it strengthens it, enriches it, and gives you a living record you can carry forward with confidence as your genealogical journey continues.
Premium (100 hour project - $100/h)
AU$10,000.00 + Book Publishing
The Premium Project is created to become a true family heirloom: the kind of book that catches the eye the moment it is placed on a table, inviting friends and relatives to lean in, lift the cover, and discover what treasures are waiting inside. This is not simply a report or a collection of charts. It is a keepsake, built to be held, shared, and passed down, carrying your family’s story forward in a form that feels worthy of the lives it preserves.
Reaching this stage is the culmination of many hours of careful research. It is the work of patiently sifting through documents, comparing details, and following trails that are often faint, fragmented, or hidden behind unfamiliar spellings and half-remembered traditions. We sieve through records to gather every morsel of evidence we can find, checking each clue against the next, until the pieces begin to lock into place. It is meticulous work, but it is also deeply rewarding — because with each verified connection, the past becomes less distant and more real.
And then, gradually, the answers you have been searching for start to emerge. Names become people. Places become homes. Dates become turning points. What once felt like scattered fragments begins to form a single, coherent story, your story, shaped by generations of ordinary resilience and extraordinary change. The Premium Project brings those discoveries together in a way that is both beautiful and enduring, transforming research into something you can open again and again.
With the final step, publishing, your ancestors and family tree are presented in a handcrafted, leather-bound book, created to last. Within its covers, the lives of your family are woven together: births and marriages, occupations and migrations, hardships and triumphs, the quiet continuities and sudden upheavals that shaped each generation. It is a book where the threads of your lineage are not just recorded, but intertwined, so that you can follow them naturally from one chapter of the family to the next.
This is a work made to be read, not merely stored. It is designed to spark conversation at gatherings, to be pulled from the shelf when stories are being told, and to become a bridge between those who remember and those who are just beginning to ask. The Premium Project is the moment your research becomes a legacy, bound with care, crafted with pride, and waiting for you to turn the page.
